Stewarding

Volunteers & Stewarding

SLDA is run solely by volunteers who choose to give up their time for our members to have the best camping experience.

We rely on volunteers to help in various ways from help running the club, arranging sites, finances, equipment, site helpers, website, etc.

We also rely on volunteers to steward our meets. They book units onto site, take and record site fees, show campers where the elsan & water points are and the siting of navigation signage.

They then inform members of any activities taking place over the meet period and park units up.

Want to Steward but are to nervous to try?

Do you fancy stewarding but are to worried about what it entails?

Well we have a solution for you.

How about shadowing one of our Stewards?

Our regular stewards will show you how to book units onto site, take and record site fees, show campers where the elsan & water points are and the siting of section signage. they also inform members of any activities taking place over the meet period and park units up! ‘Its that Easy’!

We don’t expect stewards to conduct any entertainment or activities but just greet all campers with a smile and a friendly face.

Stewards are responsible for the Health & Safety of members whilst on site and should familiarise themselves with Green Paper 3.18 (v14) before stewarding a site.

Camping setup with a caravan and two flags, one yellow and one red, showing signs for pet on leads and stop here, in front of a hedge and trees with people walking in the background.

Remember: Stewards get FREE camping and a small meal allowance when stewarding for SLDA!
